Sky Academy Studios

BSkyB, Osterley · 2013

BSkyB wanted a working micro-version of their real broadcast studios at Osterley, where children could experience making television. Not a mock-up: broadcast-standard infrastructure (broadcast desk, monitoring wall, cameras, audio) inside a public-facing educational facility, with school groups moving through it daily.

I was design engineer and project manager end-to-end, working through Engage Works: full AV system design, equipment specification, technical drawings, and delivery management from brief to handover.

Delivered on time. Steve Blyth, CEO of Engage Works, called it “their biggest achievement with Engage Works so far” in a 2013 industry interview, and Engage Works kept bringing ETS onto projects for the next decade, through to the NEOM D&C Innovation Hub control room specification in 2022.

Useful when a technically complex AV or broadcast project needs one person carrying both the engineering depth and the delivery accountability.
